When nearing the maximum user limit, the administrator should be informed about it

      NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      When close to reaching the maximum user limit in Confluence, the administrator should be notified about it in advance, e.g. via a notification email. Currently there is no warning regarding "Maximum user limit has been reached" until a new user is added to Confluence and the license does not permit an additional user. Pre informing will help the administrator to allocate resources well in advance.

            I do not understand wh it takes so long to simply push a notification email when users nearly reach max allowed, it is a so basic but necessary thing.

            One of the major key success for a company is to listen your customer needs.

            Disappointing.
            When I get the chance to pick another product that does the same thing as Confluence I will make sure to pick something else. Realizing that this issue was created in 2007 and closed in 2014 with the basic notion that customer's ideas are not important, then choosing another product with more community support seems like the real winner here.

            Thank you for raising this issue. While I can see how this feature would be useful, we have no plans to implement it in the foreseeable future. In order to set expectations, we're closing this request now.

            Hello. I don't normally say this but when a system is purchased and when the license limit of users is reached it should not forbid me from using the system. It should just not allow me to add more users.

            Yes, we've reached the limit without warning, We tried to remove or disable users and we get errors that there are issues assigned to those users from JIRA. So now we cannot edit any page on confluence because we reached the max number of users. Why is that ? What is this, ransomeware ? It takes time in a corporation to approve to purchase or upgrade a license. We may go with the max limit for maybe a few weeks till we get approval to upgrade the license.
