            Hi All,
We are please to announce this feature will be implemented in our upcoming OnDemand release (in a couple of weeks) and will ship to behind the firewall customers in the upcoming Confluence 5.5 release due out in a couple of months or earlier. Stay tuned.

You can configure your site favicon through the Confluence admin screen under the "Site logo and favicon" menu item.

Thanks for your patience with this issue.

When you have a LOT of tabs in your browser, it's really pain in the ass to find the necessary tab Fix please.

Agreed – seems like it would be a trivial issue to fix and it does seem to be causing some customer unhappiness. Please fix!

Just voted on this - this is something that just needs to be done. It's absolutely annoying to work with, using Confluence through the OnDemand service. Please fix

Please fix! We recently bought Atlassian Ondemand including Confluence, but there is no favicon for Confluence, which makes it hard to work with many generic tabs, especially with browsers that allow you to "pin" tabs to the tab bar, i.e. Firefox and Chrome. Thanks!

One of the many small bugs in OnDemand which Atlassian refuses to solve. Really bad product management in this company. It's a pity how much Atlassian descended in such matters over the last years.

Any word on this? Can you open a new ticket for adding a default favicon to Confluence? It's driving me nuts.

Amen to what David said. This is ridiculous. Just add a default favicon for Confluence! It looks very unprofessional and results in a bad UX.

I concur. The lack of a default favicon for Confluence On-Demand is really quite unpolished and makes it harder to find Confluence tabs among others in the browser

It doesn't even have to be a custom favicon, just a default favicon will do. Currently there is none for Confluence On-Demand which is very annoying.

I added my vote as well. The current workarounds don't work for the onDemand installations - so this should be tackled also from the perspective that part of the userbase can't fixt it themselves.

Even better allow a different favicon per space too through the space admin.

this would be very useful. We use confluence for our clients and it is confusing that it does not have our logo as favicon.

In my installation of 3.3, after doing all of the convoluted stuff listed above, the original Confluence favicon persisted on the home page (though my new icon appeared on all sub-pages). The solution was ultimately to stop and restart Confluence, clear the browser cache, close and reopen the browser. I can confirm that "confluence_16.png" is the offender here, so it is still essential that you replace this file with a new one having exactly the same name. Here's the pseudo-code, to be clear:

            cp myfavicon.ico confluence/favicon.ico
            cp myfavicon.ico confluence/images/icons/favicon.ico
            cp myfavicon.png confluence/images/icons/favicon.png
            cp myfavicon.png confluence/images/logo/confluence_16.png

This would be convenient, and would probably be a quick hit.

Another vote for "Let's make this customizable via the Admin panel". This is something that gets updated in many (if not most) installations and the current implementation is insanely quirky - two different versions of the same file have to be put in four different places, with two different names, one of which being confluence_16!? The favicon link to confluence_16.png mysteriously appeared in 2.10 and took quite some time for Jeremy and I to resolve.

You may also need to update /confluence/images/logo/confluence_16.png as well.

Make sure to clear your browser's cache after restarting Confluence with the changes, to pick up the new favicon.

There is no feature built into Confluence to manage this at the moment but you can do it manually by updating the following files in the application:

            confluence/favicon.ico
            confluence/images/icons/favicon.ico
            confluence/images/icons/favicon.png

You will have to update these files every time you update confluence though.
