Description
Summary
When importing a Word document with a special character (like μ), Confluence cannot render the Word versions of the unicode characters. When viewing the imported Word file, the characters either show as a square or show other strange characters.
Environment
- This has been tested in Confluence 5.9.x and 6.x instances.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a Word file
- Insert a special character like μ
- Save the file
- Import the Word document following these instructions
Expected Results
The content is imported and the special characters are rendered correctly
Actual Results
The characters are rendered as boxes as shown in the screenshot below:
Workaround
The only current workaround is to edit the imported page and replace the square characters with the special characters.
