Description
- Tested with version 5.3.19 as well as 5.3.17. Confluence 6.2 and Confluence 6.1.1.
To reproduce:
- Add a JIRA Issue dates Even to a Team Calendar
- If the Issue Created Date is not checked, the date range will not appear on the calendar.
In the screen shot above you can see the JQL and date range chosen. The Event will disappear from the calendar if Issue Created Date is unchecked.
The cause of this bug is that the custom fields for Change Start Date and Change Completion Date are not searchable, as the Search Template for these fields is set to "none" by default: see https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/configuring-a-custom-field-938847235.html for details on Search Templates.
The following workaround will allow you to see the fields in team calendar without adding extra event clutter:
Steps to fix in Jira:
- Navigate to the admin issues tab and select "Custom Fields" from the side menu.
- Search for "Change" to bring up the Change Start Date and Change Completion Date in the list.
- Select "edit" from the cog icon beside each field to edit the Search Template.
- Select "Date Time Range picker" from the dropdown menu for Search Template.
- After completing this step for both fields, Reindex Jira.
After completing these steps and reindexing Jira, you should now see the events in Team Calendars without adding "issue created date" to the selected fields.
