CalDAV support is a must for it to properly interoperate with the largest number of clients. It's unclear from the documentation if this is supported or if subscriptions in iCal/Outlook/Thunderbird currently just download/upload .ics files.

I'm not able to change the event type of I use Thunderbird to create an event. It's always the standard type "event" after that and I have to change the type in confluence itself. If I have to open confluence to do that I can just create the event there from the start...

Way to go! Our users keep asking for calendar solution in Confluence and we've been looking for ways to make our shared calendars more visible - sharable - usable, so +1

            Hi chris.swinney1,

Thanks for the valuable feedback. As you've probably guessed, this is very much out of scope for our implementation of CalDAV. However, we'll certainly bear it in mind for future improvements.

This is good new, however, I think more work needs to be made of the Calendaring application to make it truly functional. I have posted this elsewhere but a lot of posts go seemingly unread, so even though this is specifically about CalDav support (and yay for that), I though posting her might get some more traction.

For example, to be able to assign and track team members holidays, you need to know:

            • How many days have been assign to individuals?,
            • How many days have been taken?,
            • Do weekends count?
            • How many day have you as an individual got leave in a holiday year?,
            • When does this holiday year start/stop?,
            • Can you carry over holiday from one year to another, and if so how mach?
            • Some workflow required (potentially) to authorise holiday requests).

Most of this is pretty simple stuff, but of course GUI enhancements are required. We looked at Confluence originally for Calendaring, and whilst this is generally good, and CalDav will make this better, there are additional items that must be included to make this really work for teams.

            Hi all,

I'm pleased to let you know that we've completed our technical investigation and have decided to add CalDAV to our roadmap!

We plan to begin development on this in the first half of 2018. However, as I'm sure you can appreciate, implementing CalDAV for Team Calendars will be a sizable undertaking. There will be a number of edge cases to work around and we want to ensure that we deliver a rock solid experience. Thank you for your patience as we work on this.

I'll update you again once we begin development.

            Best,

I am not sure Atlassian itself is responsible for this plugin. I sure hope not.

I have meanwhile discontinued our usage as I now consider this a scam.

Someone else should see this functionality gap and step in with an own calendar implementation. Since I moved our calendar to a cloud based backend I suppose this is more reasonable anyway that having you wiki host your calendar. Which would require really only a calendar that is in-wiki and a view to a remote caldav resource.

            Just my 2 cents...

This has one of the highest votes for a Confluence server issue however the latest Atlassian status update is from November 2013!

I think Atlassian should give more attention to issues with high votes so that we know what can be expected.

This is of vital importance to us. We operate teams spanning both O365 and Google worlds, and the inbuilt shared calendar do not synchronise without other stuff breaking. Hence the need for a third separate central calendar that enables both Outlook and Google Calendar users to link toward AND be able to update from their own scheduling application.

I think about building a workaround/addon for 2way sync feature.

A possible solution is merging ics subscriptions of the calendars. Another one is having two calendars om both ends (one for write, another for read). Then updating the read calendars from the write ones.

Do you think this proposal has potential or not?

            Hi CalDAV support

I have new requirement regarding to the number of invitation votes. Can we enhance with the features of voting counts. Example, I have training room 1 which limited to 5 seats. I invited a team more than 15 members. The first five will be able to accept automatically showed the calendar schedule on their personal outlook or team calendars those did not participate or late will be automatically declined or closed notifications.

Is that possible? thank you in advance.

We're finding that calendars are very limited without this feature as well. One way sync still leads to a lot of duplication (having to enter calendar data into multiple places). Two way sync would drastically increase the productivity this plugin provides.

            Yes please.

This could leverage the external database used to synchronize these calendars. Essentially, the calendar in outlook and confluence would do their read/writes via that database. Every Confluence system already leverages an external database (for production) I would recommend utilizing that as an avenue to sync calendars, then not only can you sync with outlook, but then it is just a matter of utilizing an API to sync with any calendar.

            Anyway, just thinking out loud.

NOT having two-way integration with Exchange/Outlook has been a drag on my team's uptake and use of Team Calendars. There was a lot of excitement about it when we first installed it, but so much of our scheduling is already done in Outlook that to have to duplicate any of it in Confluence is effectively a non-starter for people.

            +1

As we are using Atlassian Team Calendar for noting the availability of team members we are effectively forced to make double entries in Outlook/Exchange. Apart from being able to display MS Exchange calendars we would also like to be able to filter and classify on the status of the event.

Specifically we need to display only events with the status "Out of Office" as Travel in Team Calendar.
