NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

CalDAV support is a must for it to properly interoperate with the largest number of clients. It's unclear from the documentation if this is supported or if subscriptions in iCal/Outlook/Thunderbird currently just download/upload .ics files.

Atlassian Status as of April 13, 2021

      Hi Everyone,

We know it's been a long time coming and we're excited to provide an update that CalDAV support will ship to Team Calendars Cloud at the end of May.

Thanks so much for your patience and we look forward to more feedback once you get a chance to use the feature!

As a note, Team Calendars is now included in all Confluence Cloud Premium licenses. More info here.

            [CONFCLOUD-51340] CalDAV support

Again another 1/2 baked integration relying on another 3rd party utility to make things function. I'm starting to wonder if Atlassian has any intention on developing a fully functional platform with native integrations. I find it a bit perverse that we need to keep "Frankensteining" our environments in order to provide "table stakes" functionality.

After creating a support ticket the Atlassian team hinted me on the following Confluence docu page: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/subscribe-to-team-calendars-from-microsoft-outlook/

Seems that Caldav Support for syncing Team Calenders with Outlook is avaiable - I will test it with the required 3rd party plugin CalDavsynchronizer

@Mihamina: I am talking about the possiblity of using Caldav to sync Confluence Team Calenders with  Outlook - and that is a feature Atlassian announced to provide several months ago.

            Hi everyone,

i've figured a little workaround how to get it working

Please note the "System messages" outlined in this manual might not 100% accurate because I must translate them.

Currently it works with Apple MacOS, iPhone and iPad. To set it up follow the steps:

            1. Go to your confluence page
            2. Select apps --> Calendar
            3. click on "..." on the left pane from a calendar of your choice (it doesn't matter)
            4. select subscribe
            5. choose "CalDAV"
            6. Copy Url into your clipboard
            7. On Apple OS (incl. IOS, iPadOS and macOS) goto Accounts --> Add --> select other --> caldav --> Paste the url into server address
            8. Enter your confluence mail address as username
            9. Generate a API token password
              1. On confluence page click on your icon in the right top corner
              2. choose settings
              3. click on password in the left pane
              4. click on "Generate a API token"
            10. Copy that API token in the password field.
            11. Save
            12. After some time the iPhone will display a warning "the server cannot be reached through ssl (encrypted) connection. Try unencrypted? => SELECT NO
            13. Save
            14. A warning will be displayed that this account might not be usable at all --> Ignore it --> Click on save again
            15. Go to your calendar app, it should successfully start syncing. (2WAY)

            Greetings
