      Summary

Page properties report macro is not sorting DD/MM/YYYY in the proper order; that is, going by month year first, then month, then day. Instead, it is sorting in alpha-numeric order.

      Environment

      • Confluence
      • Page Properties Macros 4.3.1

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a few pages with a table including a date in one column with typing //
      2. Add a common label to those pages.
      3. Create a new page with Page Properties Report Macro and include the date column

      Expected Results

      • With date format MM/DD/YYYY attempt to sort; should sort in logical order.

      Actual Results

      • In some cases, will sort alpha-numeric order instead.
      • In the original example, it was the simple DD MMM YYYY, however, I have also seen the issue only when switching browser language to German and allowing confluence to switch to German

[CONFSERVER-33566] Page properties report doesn't sort by date properly

For everyone still hoping for a fix: I raised another issue which led to this new ticket: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-60052

A year later but the bug still isn't fixed on Confluence Server.
The sorting goes wrong when the user has a the language set in the browser, in our case DUTCH.

            Still doesn't work.

Other similar bugs are open for Confluence Cloud and Server. Atlassian please address this.

This is not resolved.  It's still a problem.  And, because it's marked resolved, we can't vote on it.  Please remove the resolved tag so we can vote this up.  It's a bug, and a big one, that needs to be fixed.

            +1 from Continental

Bug still exists in 6.5.1, clearly not resolved!!!

The format while adding the date using the date picker and the rendering on the page afterwards are two different things.

The rendering depends on the language the user has configured in his browser (as it is simply a html5 time tag).

I think there is no config option for the input format but I am not sure about that.

Yes how can we configure the date format when using the // to call the insert.

Forgive me if this is covered elsewhere (I tried to search for the answer here), but how can one specify the format for the date macro? Mine are showing up as:

Mostly it's annoying when creating a date, as in the US we type in MM/DD/YYYY, and the // widget wants you to type in //DD/MM/YYYY and so it's easy to produce an error.

No! I went into the "insert more content" menu looking for some sort of date type but couldn't find one. Didn't know about //. Thanks! Might consider adding that somewhere in the editor's UI (even if it's in a menu or something).
