We've discovered that this issue has been duplicated by the issue at CONFSERVER-28739 - copy and pasting web images will not attach the image to the page. While this is a confirmed bug in Confluence, please watch that issue for further updates, and more detailed workarounds.
That is, you can successfully paste and save an image in an editor window using Safari as long as you did not copy the image from a Safari window.
However, if you copy the image from a Safari window and paste it into an editor window using Safari then you will not be able to paste the image
Steps to reproduce
- Find an image using google images
- Right click copy
- Open an editor window using Safari
- Right click paste
The image will not be pasted
