Summary of The Bug

Internet explorer browser can't print Confluence page in more than one page. This result to Confluence page being cut in a half when IE wants to print it. The rest of the page is there, however user would need to reduce the zoom so that it could contain the whole page

Printing another site page on IE result to multiple page being able to be printed

      How to Replicate The Issue

      1. Create a page that is long enough that it would need to be printed on more than one page
      2. Click the "Print Preview" tool on your IE
      3. You would see that the page is not complete
      4. Reduce the zoom level to see the rest of the page
      5. Try to repeat the same scenario in other browser to see the difference

[CONFSERVER-23962] IE9 could only print Confluence into one page

I just tested this on a recent upgrade to 5.1.4 and the problem still exists.

I have the same problem in Confluence 4.3.2.
When I click on print only the first page comes out of the printer.

When I print out any other webpage, all pages come out.
Why is this at all? Shouldn't a browser handle all webpages the same way when it prints them?
            Very confusing to me.

            Please fix.

We are committed to use confluence, however it does not allow our users to print more than one page from any topic because majority of our users use Internet Explorer 9 with Windows 7. This is a huge issue that we did not imagine could exist. It is even more disturbing to learn this has been a known issue for a year, and has low priority. Please fix this.

We don't have the problem in these circumstances:

            • Using Firefox
            • Using IE 8 under Windows XP
            • Using IE 9 under Win 7 when trying to print something outside Confluence

HOWEVER This is a SERIOUS PROBLEM for my client whose team members use IE9 under Windows 7 and will not take kindly to the PDF workaround. If not fixed soon, it could become an embarrassment to me after having recommended Confluence to them.

Honestly, how can you classify this as 'minor' priority when there are probably hundreds of non-software-developer users out there locked into a company-installed software profile who can't just simply print a page from Confluence?

Only the first page will print or show in Print preview.
