    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

Currently if you copy one Confluence page to another, there aren't any options to specify if you would like to copy the pages attachments over or not; they are all simply copied over. I know of at least one person who would prefer to have the option to copy a page without bringing over the attachments.

Perhaps this could be done with a checkbox per attachment during the copy operation.

A typical workflow for driving weekly meetings is to copy the confluence page from the prior meeting and update the date.  This not only gets the template all standardized but the prior action items and discussion becomes available to do the review at the head of the next meeting.  Meetings often have slide decks that get added for people to store what was presented.  Result : many old slide decks get placed and carried forward building up a bulk of incorrect attachments (presentation was not done on the day that the attachments now live).

I agree aswell. Over 50% of all attachments are based on page copy. Thats awesome. There is no possibility to copy a page without attachments or to delete all attachments on a page with one click or to detect all attachments, they have no link on page.

I would be happy if i could deactivate the attachment-copy globaly as a workaround.

According to the documentation copy a page it should be available, but it is not.

I agree that this functionality is needed.

It's a dull and time-consuming task to clean this up.

like this option as well. users copy pages with the (old versions) of attachments. In the search you find all different kind of versions now.

This would be extremely helpful if we had this ability to not copy attachments when copying a page.

As with other use cases, most our confluence instance revolves around meeting notes. To make it easy to track changes from meeting to meeting, our users just copy the meeting before and make the changes. Been doing this since we started using Confluence, so you can imagine how many attachments could now be piled up on a page now.

Please update on a status of making this improvement!

            Any update on this ticket?

We have almost 600gb of attachments in our installation, checking database most of them exist on several pages. Main reason is that users copy meeting notes on reoccurring meetings. Just to add a checkbox with the option to copy attachments in the copy page dialog would solve the problem...
