Problem Definition
When users try to access restricted Contents (Pages, Blogs, Databases, Whiteboards etc.), a "You've stumbled on restricted content" message will appear. By clicking on 'Request access', an in-app notification and email will be sent to potential approvers as mentioned on Add or remove content restrictions: Request and grant permissions.
Currently there is no centralized menu in Confluence that lists pending access requests, and approvers have to rely on in-app notifications and emails to approve all requests. This can lead to multiple access requests being missed.
Suggested Solution
Create a menu that centralizes access requests where users can:
- see a list of pending access requests;
- approve / reject them;
- see a history of processed requests.
Workaround
Content approvers can check their emails with the subject "[Confluence] USER requested access to "PAGE TITLE" - eg:
[Confluence] Charlie of Atlassian requested access to "Future Atlassian products"
