Problem Definition
The customer wants Confluence cloud to map and redirect server URL containing pageid to the corresponding page on cloud after migrating from server to cloud.
Server URL: http://server.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=12345
Redirected to cloud URL: https://cloud.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ABC/pages/203040/homepage
Situation
- End users bookmarked lot of Confluence server pages on their local browser with page id instead of space key or page title.
- Migrating confluence data from server to cloud the page ids are changed on cloud result in invalid URL if customer try to use redirect URL or CDN.
- Atlassian do provide workaround by replacing the server page id with valid page on the content body as stated in knowledge article After a successful Server to Cloud Migration, URL links are broken in the new Cloud instance
- There is no app or custom redirect within Atlassian cloud to redirect server page id to cloud page similar to How to redirect Confluence users to a new URL
Suggested Solution
- Addition to FR https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/MIG-507 to have the redirect within Atlassian cloud.
