Hi all!
We are beginning our rollout of Attachment Size Limit Enforcement today, 29 August 2023. Some of you will begin seeing this feature no enforce your configured size limits today, this week, and slowly over the course of the next few weeks as we incrementally rollout out to all customers.

Hi everyone,
My name is Sam Ugulava and I'm a Product Manager on the Confluence Cloud team. Thank you for the comments on the current need to enforce file sizes limits in Confluence. We understand this can cause backups to be slow. We are converting this bug to a suggestion ticket while we determine how broadly this problem is impacting customers. You will continue to be able to upvote and track our progress.

Issue Summary
Users are able to upload files that are bigger than the configured attachment size limit.
Steps to Reproduce
- Go to Settings > General Cofigurations
- Set an Attachment Maximum Size of 1MB
- Edit a page.
- Try to upload a 2MB file. (either by Drag and Drop, or through the attachment icon on top)
Expected Results
The attachment size limit should be enforced.
Actual Results
Files larger than the configured size limit can be uploaded.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
