Description
👋 Hi - I’m a Divya Sriram, a Product Manager that works on the editor team. Thanks a lot for your feedback. As we continue to improve the editing experience, it's important to understand use cases like this. This feature is not in our short-term roadmap, but we will work to see if it makes sense if to move this feature into our future roadmaps.
We will keep you updated along the way.
Thank you,
Divya
Problem Definition
Currently, the new editor officially supports only specific/ limited markdown codes, as per Keyboard Shortcuts, Markdown, and Autocomplete - Markdown.
In some cases, when trying to use the complete list of markdown codes (e.g. https://github.com/adam-p/markdown-here/wiki/Markdown-Cheatsheet), it won't present the expected results .
Examples of unsupported markdown (tables):
Colons can be used to align columns. | Tables | Are | Cool | | ------------- |:-------------:| -----:| | col 3 is | right-aligned | $1600 | | col 2 is | centered | $12 | | zebra stripes | are neat | $1 | There must be at least 3 dashes separating each header cell. The outer pipes (|) are optional, and you don't need to make the raw Markdown line up prettily. You can also use inline Markdown. Markdown | Less | Pretty --- | --- | --- *Still* | `renders` | **nicely** 1 | 2 | 3
Suggested Solution
Implement full markdown code support
Workaround
No know workaround for some specific markdown codes other than manually creating the elements on the editor.
