      Status Update 13 March 2020

As we're working through this feature and others, we wanted to address a lot of your concerns as to the future of the new editor and legacy editor.

Please read our recent community post here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-Cloud-articles/Change-to-your-content-is-in-your-hands/ba-p/1324476

      Issue Summary

According to our Confluence Editing Improvements article, we should be able to "Annotate images by adding text, inserting shapes and lines, using brushes, or adding a blur to a certain area" by clicking on a button below the image, but that button is currently only available on the file picker. This button will also provide the ability to add a border or shadow to the image.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Attach an image to the page
      2. Click on it

      Expected Results

There was supposed to be an "Annotations" button/ icon.

      Actual Results

      There's no annotation button.

      Workaround

For new images, it's possible to use the File and Images button, hover the image and the button will be shown on the image.

[CONFCLOUD-67122] Image annotations is not available upon clicking on the image

We did some tests and the problems reported on 11/22/2011 still persist

2022 and still no update on this?

When converting the pages, we can no longer edit the images: size and border. Also, if you don't convert the pages, some functions no longer work: copy an entire row of a table with several columns - copy the entire row in one column only (this is just an example). So we are forced to convert the pages and the new image editor doesn't work. And it seems that this has been around for a long time (2020). When will it be resolved? Or will it be resolved with customers ceasing to be customers?

Anything new happening with this? This is a must have feature for a documentation tool like this.

Lack of this feature has broken my flow when making documentation in confluence. Please address the issue.

We used properties to apply drop shadows to all the images in our documentation. We now have to do this via the source editor, which is a PITA.
