Error when importing word document to Confluence with "Import failed! word.import.error.image.size" message

      Summary

      When trying to import Word Document to Confluence Cloud using a word document with big image inside, an error was thrown.

      Environment

      • Confluence Cloud

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Visit a page in Confluence Cloud
      2. Click on the menu and choose 'Import Word Document'
      3. Follow the steps and click import

      Expected Results

      Word file successfully imported to the page

      Actual Results

      • The following message is displayed:
      • The below exception is thrown: 
        com.atlassian.confluence.plugins.wordimport.exception.ImageSizeException

      Notes

      This only happened with word files with big images inside. In Confluence Server, there is a configuration to change the limit of how big can the image be, but there is no such option in Confluence Cloud. At the same time, we are unaware of what is the maximum size allowed.

      None at the moment

            This is Nitika from the Confluence team. Thank you for previously raising this bug and bringing it to our attention.

            Within our company roadmap and work capacity, we try to address or review each bug request but admit that not each one will be resolved. To continue the culture of being honest and open, we are closing this bug to focus on our upcoming roadmap for all Confluence users.

            Hi everyone,

            This is Nataliia from the Confluence team. Thank you for raising this bug and bringing it to our attention. After our investigation into this issue, we weren’t able to reproduce the behavior within our instances. We would like to get to the root cause of what you’re experiencing. Could you provide some more details or a screenshot to help us narrow down this case?

            We will keep this issue open for another 14 days, but if we don’t hear back by then we will need to close this out to focus on our upcoming roadmap for all Confluence users.
