Support SSH transport for Git repositories in Bamboo Cloud

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

Git over SSH is a very common combination. Can you please add support for this?

[BAM-12228] Support SSH transport for Git repositories in Bamboo Cloud

            Hi,

Thanks everyone for your feedback. Given the Bamboo Cloud EOL going forward we will not be implementing new features in Bamboo Cloud.

            Regards,
            Krystian Brazulewicz

I originally reported this issue three and a half years ago, this is absolutely appalling support from Atlassian for a product we pay for. Given the number of people voting for this feature I am really surprised that Atlassian don't feel that this issue is a priority.
The only way we've managed to work around the issue is by baking the private key into a custom AMI which the also don't support. Utterly ridiculous!

I just wanted to provide an update on this request. At this stage it's unlikely that we'll address it before the end of the year.
Thanks everyone for your feedback, please know that we read it and take it into account when prioritising our roadmap but due to other factors we are unable to put this development on top of the backlog.

@spittet, the year of 2015 is long gone. Any news about this? It's kind of sad that you have a paid product that needs to deal with passwords.

148 votes, and 105 watchers. Just saying. What does it need to put it on the top of the backlog?

shame, this is now the third bug, or "missing feature", which is open for years and has at least 100 voters/watchers and which blocks us from fully utilizing Atlassian tools ... paying 6.000 USD/year for this ...

I don't have a problem with sub-modules. I just want to use a deployment key instead of user/password of one of the engineers.

For those of you affected by the related issue below, I found out that using a relative url for the submodule definition can help.
Bamboo uses the same user/password defined for the repo to clone the submodule.
The only downside is that it prints out the password in plain text while cloning the submodule.
