Confluence follows a set of Search Result Ranking: http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Ranking+of+Search+Results

It will be great if Confluence Admin can adjust the search ranking.

[AI-741] Ability to adjust ranking of search results is required

So, it seems clear that since it's been well over 10 years since this bug was filed, Atlassian is unlikely to address this issue, especially since they never cared to do so for Server or Data Center.

For Confluence Server only (now EOLed, of course) there are two add-ons that allow you to "improve" search results. Presumably they are implementing Search Decorators of some kind: https://developer.atlassian.com/server/confluence/search-decorator-module-tutorial/

Since it looks like Atlassian isn't going to do anything to "fix search", are there any plans to offer third-parties the ability to provide this functionality in Cloud?

We need the same functionality. There is a specific document that we need to ensure shows at the top when key words are being used.

That is common sense functionality for better utilization of Confluence.

            Thank you.

I had the same problem. In our wiki there is one article I like to find, which is about the topic, but has another title. The pages that have the search term in the title are blog entries that are totally outdated by now. I would like to either weight articles more than blog entries or make blog entries lose weight based on their age faster.

I hope this feature is in the works as it critical for large intranets that have many user pages. It would be very helpful to add weight to authoritative pages to ensure they always appear above other pages.

Also, being able to set an authoritative page for specific labels would be great.

            Thanks.

Will be great if this can be implemented soon since the current search ranking seems to give less significance to the "recently modified" option but it is the most priority in many situations.

            Hi,

Providing this feature is critical in a real-time environment. Search results that are coming with this default ranking system is pretty dumb!

            Thanks.

This feature would be very helpful to us. We are a college, with many users who set up personal pages. However, these pages are rarely relevant to the information our users are searching for.

For instance, we have a shared network drive called "HOME". Many people have questions about how to access their files on HOME. When they search our wiki, however, there are many personal pages that are given priority in the ranking system, because everyone's personal page is called "Home". It is currently nearly impossible to find the page(s) about the network drive "HOME" on our wiki.

            Thanks!

It would be great if you could specify optional weight modifiers to the configuration of template form fields.

This feature would be super important to our users. Often time information relevance changes, and a new page is made with more updated information., and depending on how someone searches, the older information goes to the top and the new page may be buried.

This feature also gets our vote.

Some feedback we collect from our users' Confluence experience is that the search results aren't relevant and it sometimes takes a few tries.

I'd like to give higher rankings to the higher viewed pages and those that were recently edited. It seems like the long tail ranks too high.

            Btw, this was interesting--http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DEV/ShipIt+XI+Delivery+-+Awesome+Search+for+Confluence
