My deployment scenario is that I have installed JIRA, Confluence, and Stash. Currently JIRA and Confluence have an actual installer via running a .bin file from the command line; this takes care of setting up a system user, utilizing the system user appropriately, and creating a service. For Stash this isn't done; the process is to untar and copy into the location, do some manual configuration (that needs to be done each time I update manually). Each time I restart my machine, I manually stop Stash, reboot, manually start Stash, as I don't have time to attempt (and debug) manually creating a service for Stash.
In an effort to make a marketable case for this ticket being scheduled for release sooner: if the installation for Stash was consistent with JIRA and Confluence, I would think it would be adopted more.
This may be better solved by STASH-2902.
