As per announced in https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/STASH/End+of+support+announcements+for+Stash Stash 3.0 ends support for Java 6.
It would be awesome if you could provide a distribution of these future Stash versions that is bundled with its own JVM, as in the case of JIRA.
This will make life a lot easier for people who don't really have much of a say as to what version of JVM would be available on their box (which are typically managed by someone else).
