SourceTreeSetup-2.3.1.0.exe crashes in NotificationsManager.SetOwner

      I started the installer (without going "as adnimistrator") .The installer just dies. Before dying, it creates the folders:

      %LOCALAPPDATA%\Atlassian\SourceTree

      %LOCALAPPDATA%\Atlassian\SourceTree.exe_Url_3npl2u2iod1eyk1jve1uhrr1sig1ig0i\2.3.1.0

      In sourcetree.log I see:

      ERROR [2017-10-17 12:13:16,061] [1] [SourceTree.App] [OnStartup] - Failed to start
      System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
      at SourceTree.Notifications.NotificationsManager.SetOwner(NotificationDialogWindow notificationWindow)

      Please find the full sourcetree.log attached.

      In a second attempt I removed the %LOCALAPPDATA%\Atlassian folder, and ran the installer "As Administrator". It still crashed in the same way.

       UPDATE: I tried older versions.

      • SourceTreeSetup-2.2.4.0.exe crashed in the same way.
      • SourceTreeSetup-2.1.10.0.exe installed without crashing
