This is a user breaking issue that will prevent anyone from using this application. It is widely reported and no fixes have been made or error prompts that properly state an awareness or fix for the issue. The thrown exception isn't adequate for recovery. The error prompt does not give enough detail on the root cause.

It is widely reported and no fixes have been made or error prompts that properly state an awareness or fix for the issue. The thrown exception isn't adequate for recovery. The error prompt does not give enough detail on the root cause.

I get the following error when running the application in low permissions level. If I elevate the permissions to admin it works. It isn't limited to `git log`, it has shown the same prompt with `git status`.

This error only happens on select users at my company. Some users it works perfectly fine others it does not. Doesn't matter what computers we use.

Can i get a better error log to diagnose? I believe a group policy could fix this error. Since this is for a company permissions are set via that method. Source tree does work flawlessly on a personal computer probably because nothing has been locked down.

Is it how the git application is being invoked by SourceTree? The git application works perfectly fine outside of SourceTree, all other git managers work flawlessly except for SourceTree.

The last time this application has worked on low level accounts was version 3.0.17. It still is broken on 3.4.12

      Git Version is System:

      2.40.0

      C:\Program Files\Git\cmd\git.exe

      To reproduce:

      1. Install SourceTree on a computer with permissions locked down.
      2. Setup the repo software for git usage.
      3. Create or open a repo.
      4. Boom error is thrown.
