The Sourcetree team member Arati Mohanty closed SRCTREE-6224 as "fixed" but the implementation is faulty. This was discovered by eric.southam and he reported it in the issue comments. Thomas Casteleyn has confirmed this problem. I can also reproduce it.

The faulty implementation only executes a fetch, but not on the selected "other" branch.
