The new look of the 1.9 interface when staging files and looking and diffs is a major step backwards on the mac.

For file lists: always showing the full path is almost always a bad presentation choice. It's not communicating the change set very well, especially for any real world project that has more than 1-2 levels of directories in it. Please allow to display the column as file names only, like before.

The additional separating lines and padding around the cells don't help. It's visual noise and just distracting.

For diffs (hunks) on the right: The added padding again just adds visual noise that distracts from looking at the diff. I wish there was a way to get rid of it.
