I just got the update to 1.6.0.1 and the 're-open project windows at startup' preference doesn't work anymore. I have it checked and it would open the bookmarks window and my one project window when starting. Now it just opens the bookmarks window. I've tried unchecking, exiting and rechecking the option in case the preference database was confused but it didn't help.

New implementation has a drop-down. In 10.6 you'll have the old options, re-open on startup or don't re-open any. In 10.7+ it'll be either re-open or use system preferences.

We're going to re-address this one dependent on whether we can detect OS preferences. Currently we adhere to the OS preferences as we should do according to the UI guidelines - so what we currently do is correct in 1.6.0+. We'll look at having a way to override the OS pref, however. I won't put a massive urgency on this, though.

Personally I think Apple hasn't thought out that stuff very well. I have that preference checked for my system, as it makes sense for the (mainly developer Applications I use). For example when I open the terminal from SourceTree I just want a single window opened. If terminal was previously not running I don't want any windows I had opened previously opened and a new window opened.

I'd really appreciate it if you could make it possible to have a SourceTree preference to override the global preference for this. One size doesn't fit all here!

            Hi Randy,

I'm going to close this one if that's OK with you. The reason this is happening is because of the system preference in 10.7+ which allows you to re-open windows on startup. Basically, we now honour this system preference. The reason why there's a preference in SourceTree is for 10.6 users who don't have the system preference available to them. I'll file an issue to hide this option in SourceTree for 10.7+ users.

I'll attach an image of the preference in question, it differs between 10.7 and 10.8. In 10.8 it's called "Close windows when quitting application" and, as a result, it won't cause those windows to be restored the next time you open the application. You have to use this preference (turn it off in 10.8) for window restoration. In 10.7 it's called something like "Restore windows on startup" and it has to be turned on in 10.7.

I'll attach an image and link an issue to get rid of the checkbox from the preferences if you're in 10.7+.

Hope that helps, if not feel free to re-open this issue or ask more questions.

This could be a system preference problem, I just spoke of this issue today actually on AAC here:

            https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/171809/re-open-project-windows-at-startup-stopped-working

Check it out and see if it applies to you, if not, just let me know and we can investigate this one further.

            Thanks very much!
