The default font in the actual interface of SourceTree (not the diff view) has very small font. Despite having 20/20 vision, I find it quite difficult to work with, especially on high-res displays. I've searched through the preferences but could not find a way to increase the size of the GUI font.

Please allow changing the font-size and family to any of the system's available fonts. Thanks.

[SRCTREE-1286] Allow Changing Font Size in SourceTree Interface

Agree with this request.  The main view in sourcetree is a "wall of text" so being able to control the font family and size would be a welcome addition.  This item is closed as resolved, but I don't see where this is controllable in the latest version of sourcetree (v3.4.6).

Why the resistance (based on the original date of this issue) for making this a user setting? I personally don't have an issue with the size of the font, I do have an issue with the font itself and very much prefer a fixed-width serif font (you know, so lower case l and capital I don't look the same?).

So, no matter how much you think you've correctly tweaked the font metrics, there will always be people with valid, different preferences.

Please make this an option to reduce the line spacing.  I don't like design decisions being made like this that reduce the usability - its OK to have it the default but the user should have control.  I dislike this enough that I'm downgrading until you fix this.

I've tried to get used to the new larger font size in 2.7, but it doesn't work for me. It's just too big compared to everything else. Some customizability here would be really welcome.

Also not a fan of this change.  The font size increase does make sense as it was quite small prior to 2.7, but the line spacing is too much.

So... I just updated to SourceTree (for Mac) 2.7 and I have to say I'm not a fan of the increased amount of whitespace in the commit graph. For me personally, it's even a step backwards in productivity, because of the major loss of information density. I now have to minimize the size of all panels to get a decent commit graph overview, or perform a lot more scrolling. I'm fine with the increase in font size in the commit graph, but the line spacing is really taking it a step too far...

I'd really like for the team to reconsider making the font settings customizable to some extend. By all means, it doesn't have to be a full blown font picker with colours, styles and the like, but a basic setting like font size would solve the original issue as well as what I'm facing now. Or, perhaps even better, leave the font size as is, but at least make the line spacing/line height customizable.

As of 2.7 the font size and spacing in the log view, sidebar, and sheets are now more legible and standard values. We'll finish applying that to other areas in 2.7.1 (namely the file listings).

We aren't going to go the route of a fully customizable font size for a number of technical reasons but hope this addresses the crux of the problem for folks.

I have the same problem. The font is small and unreadable. Below is the comment I left on this on community questions:

Here's a screenshot of how a typical dialog box looks in Sourcetree (2.3.5.0 but the problem was the same in earlier versions).

In general everything is too small and looks distorted. It is very hard to read ANYTHING at all across the entire Sourcetree program.

Even in this one case, where I am allowed to choose a custom font for Diff (and Diff only), there is no way to even get that to render cleanly; there is weird distortion around every letter no matter what size I pick (see the sample text in the screenshot).

Why does Sourcetree use some strange custom font like this instead of native fonts in a readable size, especially ones with proper hinting for non-antialiased rendering.

Is there any way at all to fix this? It looks terrible and is makes the program difficult to use.

Another up-vote here to provide an option to choose a different font size and, if possible, font family for the commit messages. For me, the font size of the commit messages is too small to read without straining my eyes (at least on macOS with a MacBook Pro Retina display).

            Thanks!

Thank you Thuy Copeland for the recommendation of GitKraken. I've used and loved SourceTree for years, but there's only so much eye strain I can bear. Time to pick an alternative. A shame Atlassian doesn't prioritize responding to issues based on votes. As of now, this ticket has 70 votes, putting it at #7 on the list of SRCTREE 1000+ open issues, sorted by vote count. Disappointing.

EDIT: Sadly, GitKraken has not yet implemented interactive rebase, so squinting at SourceTree will likely continue.

The blurred fonts issue was fixed when you upgrade for the latest version 2.2.1.4. And I would like to see an increase font size feature as all my development tools have it except SourceTree.

Yes you can increase the Windows font sizes but Sourcetree isn't the only app in the world and some other apps do not suit large fonts. It would be a lot better to have the flexibility and could be a deal breaker for many.

Same here as well, the text looks so blurry. It would be great if this ticket is pulled in next version. I had to rollback to v1.9 because I use Sourcetree everyday, new v2 makes my eye feel uncomfortable and not easy to review bunch of code lines with blurry text.

If anyone else is tired of SourceTree's devs ignoring a basic accessibility feature, I'd suggest checking out Git Kraken. On my Mac, the key command to zoom (Command + = key) does exactly what you'd expect and bumps up the system font size in the UI! Super nice UI and great tooling.

Goodbye SourceTree. It's been a headache, eye strain, and not fun.

This should be a "Must Have" feature. I'm planning to give a video training where I would like to use SourceTree as support, but  the characters are to small to appear on the video. Also, I have 4k monitor and I have to use a telescope to read the commits every time I move the Source Tree from the MacBook Pro retina display to the 4k monitor. I'm sure that the Source Tree team is planning to implement this feature asap.

The font size in most of the GUI is still a problem with Version 2.3.2 (75).  I found the setting that allows me to change the font for the "diff" view and made that comfortable Monaco 13pt.  But that's not enough, since I have to work with the whole GUI to get my work done.

I am trying out SourceTree for the first time. I can't read what is written in the GUI because the font becomes unreadable on the screen of my Mac. And I don't want to fiddle with the screen resolution just to use a certain application such as SourceTree. I find no way to change the Font Size. If it is not possible to change it, I will simply go for another git GUI.

Anybody can open an issue with whatever priority they want, and if you look at the history it appears that the OP marked it as minor (that's the default). I've created a new post here, in accordance with Dmitri's suggestion, but this time with the priority set to critical. Please comment to support it:

Can we please get this feature bumped to the top of the list? The inability to increase the font size is a problem for everyone, and a huge problem for those with impaired vision. I am lucky enough to have 20/20 vision, for now, but I write all my code with accessibility in mind and Atlassian should too. Making your software more accessible to more people is just good business.

Yes indeed this is a very pressing issue. It is literally killing my eyes. Atlassian, it's high time you should do something about it! You provide great functional products, we expect the same in terms of usability too.

No, Atlassian is obviously not listening.

For an issue that is 2.5 years old and has 20 votes from the community, Atlassian is in fact showing us and the world that they do not care about their users.

If they cared or took even the slightest interest in the health of their users, they would at least take the time to comment here on when or if a fix can be expected.

This silent treatment from Atlassian is truly a sad display of Customer No-Service.

sstreeting, is anyone at Atlassian actually interested in the health of users? If so, can this issue please be given the attention it deserves?

In view of the new hi res screens the font often ends up microscopic rendering the product unusable.

Microscopic font indeed - very hard to read.
This is one big reason for me to use other inferior products!

Can a member of the Atlassian team please explain why this issue is still assigned a priority of Minor?

For Mac OSX This makes a lot of sense on Hi-res screens.

Second this. SourceTree is a great tool but the tiny fonts make it difficult to use.
