Problem
Rovo agents currently do not preserve rich formatting from the Atlassian Document Format (ADF) when reading, processing, or writing content in Confluence pages and Jira fields. Content that includes panels, tables with merged cells, status lozenges, mentions, layouts, media/images, smart links, and other ADF-native elements is degraded to plain Markdown during agent processing, resulting in data loss and broken formatting in the output.
Suggested Solution
When an agent reads and writes back content, preserve the original ADF structure for sections not explicitly modified
Why This Is Important
Rich formatting in ADF (panels, tables, layouts, media) carries critical structural meaning- not just aesthetics. When Rovo agents strip this formatting, the output loses context, hierarchy, and readability, forcing users into manual rework that negates the productivity gains agents are meant to deliver.
