      User Problem

Sometimes, an alert may be routed incorrectly, or a team/user may accidentally be added manually to an alert. Right now, there is no option to remove a team/user from an alert.

      Suggested Solutions

Adding a new action to remove a responder would resolve this. However, the processes for sending to outbound integrations and starting escalations within teams would need to be considered.

      Current Workarounds

Right now, the best workaround is to create a new alert with the correct responders, but this also adds its own issues with integrations and reporting.

Couldn't figure this out until I found this thread. This should be basic functionality. You can change an Assignee in Jira Service Management, but not in Opsgenie?

This is a bug and not a feature request.

How can you not be allowed to reassign the responding Team? Especially once you have added a second Team?

+1 for this feature request for alerts.

Two options could be provided in the UI:

One option to keep the existing team when the alert is reassigned, and another option to remove the existing team when the alert is reassigned.

Hi there, this feature is an essential part of the user experience of OpsGenie. At this moment, a planned or unplanned edit of the responders field will make the field so that you cannot edit it at all.

I am concerned that this is treated as a feature and not a critical bug. It is not nice that we have an action on a released tool that cannot be reversed at all. Imagine if we could not change the assignees on a ticket...

+1 (x 1000!) this is greatly needed, we need our techs to be able to completely "hand off"an alert to another team without being "attached" to it after that handoff.

This used to be a feature, as evidenced by this doc: https://support.atlassian.com/opsgenie/docs/add-or-remove-a-responder/

Why was this removed? This is now the second feature I've discovered that's important to my team's workflow that used to exist in OpsGenie at some point, but was removed.
EDIT: Nevermind - I misread the linked doc; that doc applies to incidents. Regardless, if it can be done for incidents, there's no reason it shouldn't be possible for alerts as well.
