      Hello everyone,

We are glad to announce that migrating Opsgenie accounts between Cloud sites capability is now available. Please contact support for further information and performing the migration.

A few notes to keep in mind :

      • We need approvals from a site-admin on both cloud sites (i.e. the one Opsgenie is currently on "source", and the one you want to move it to "destination")
      • Both sites will need to have an Opsgenie product of the same plan type. If the other site does not currently contain Opsgenie, you can add a trial temporarily to perform the operation.
      • After site migration is performed, there may be some manual validations to be done to ensure user-group syncing between OG and site is correct, and JSM/JSW integrations are re-synced

      Summary

Currently, each Opsgenie account is linked to an Atlassian Site. This is done by either creating the Atlassian Account from that site, or for pre-existing standalone Opsgenie accounts, there was an opportunity to migrate the account to an Atlassian Site. At this time, there is no way to move/migrate an Opsgenie account from 1 Atlassian Site to another.

There are a number of situations where this is important - when companies merge or split, when a company creates an Opsgenie standalone account outside of their primary Atlassian site, or when Jira/JSM are migrated from one site to another.

In situations where Opsgenie is on a different Atlassian site than other Atlassian products (e.g. Jira), this prevents those accounts from being able to leverage some of the features available between Opsgenie and other Atlassian products, e.g. linking Jira/JSM issues to alerts/incidents.

      Suggestion

Create a solution to be able to move/migrate Opsgenie accounts between Atlassian Sites.

      Workaround

As a workaround - there is currently an export/import utility available that allows for more manual migration (please note as migration is not the intended purpose of this tool, the support offered will be best effort only), though it's important to take note of the limitations.
