User Problem
Users are trying to get meaningful and readable details for alerts in Opsgenie, especially when incidents are created. Currently, the details pane often includes non-descriptive IDs (e.g., impacted-services: 2d9e9bc9-f5b7-4e), which are not helpful for incident responders. Users need the ability to either automatically replace these IDs with meaningful names or exclude these details altogether.
Add a way to identify the responder type, if it’s a team or a user.
Suggested Solutions
1. Automatic Translation of IDs:
- Implement a feature that allows Opsgenie to translate service IDs into meaningful service names automatically when alerts are created.
- Allow integrations to specify human-readable names directly in the alert payload, replacing raw IDs.
2. Customizable Details Fields:
- Provide users with the ability to customize which fields are included in the alert details via integration settings.
- Enable a setting to exclude certain fields from being displayed in the alert details if they do not contain useful information.
