User Problem
Users need the ability to include email attachments in alerts when an alert is being closed via email integration. Currently, when a new alert is triggered via email, attachments can be included and viewed within the alert. However, when closing an alert, there is no option to include attachments. This limitation prevents users from retaining important documents and files that might be relevant to the resolution or closure of the alert, affecting the completeness and effectiveness of the alert history.
Suggested Solutions
To address this issue, a new feature should be introduced that allows email attachments to be included when an alert is closed via email. This could be implemented by:
- Extending the Email Parser: Modify the email parser to detect and process attachments in emails that are used to close alerts.
- Updating the Alert Closure Process: Ensure that attachments are associated with the alert in the same way they are when a new alert is created. This would involve storing these attachments in the alert’s activity log or details section.
- User Interface Update: Provide a visual indicator and access point for these attachments in the alert’s closure notes or activity log, making it easy for users to review all documents associated with the alert lifecycle.
