    Description

      User Problem

Currently, when a user manually creates an incident in Opsgenie, it creates a responder alert for that user, which is often unnecessary and undesired

The benefit of this alert is it ensures a responder alert is always created for each incident, even when no services are added as impacted, nor other users/teams added as responders.

This alert is not always necessary, as the user who creates the incident knows of the incident being created, so they should not need to be notified of this incident.

      Suggested Solutions

It would be great to have the option for this alert to not be created when a user manually creates an incident. If other users/teams are added to the incident, there could be a check-box where you can choose whether you want a responder alert to be created for the user creating the incident or not.

      Current Workarounds

The workaround would be to route (using a Global Alert Policy) the individual responder alert generated by the incident to a dummy team where a Notification suppression and auto-close policy is used to close the alert.

The filter conditions to use would be as in the image below:

        - for example, for the global Alert policy:

        - and for the Notification suppression and auto-close policy
