In Jira Work Management List view, whenever we filter based on issue types, we want the columns to be dynamically updated to reflect custom fields related to each issue type, especially for Subtasks.
Having to show all columns, for both Tasks/Subtasks, means that the view is very wide, as well there are columns which are applicable only to Tasks and vice-versa, some are only applicable to Subtasks.
Currently filtering based on issue types doesn't change the columns and it needs to be removed manually.
How to replicate:
Please have a look at below demo on my test instance. I've created a custom field for issue type "Task" only called "Extra field for Task Only":
By filtering the list view based on issue type, it still shows this column for issue type "Epic" which doesn't have this field:
FYI: We have an open feature request for Jira Software Task/Subtask here:
- Ability to configure what fields / columns appear in the Child issues, Subtasks and Linked issues sections when viewing the parent issue
However, JWMCLOUD-682 is more focused on JWM List view and all issue types, not only subtasks.
