      Current behavior

Columns set by admins in Lists in Jira Work management projects are only available to that user and not shared across to other users.

      This is by design: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-work-management/docs/customize-your-list-by-adding-or-removing-fields/

The fields you choose to display in your list will only be visible to you.

      Suggestion

For admins, a feature to save column configuration in List view would be a good addition.

I believe this issue is a duplicate of JWMCLOUD-98 – Ability to set default List view columns, controlled by admin of each project which has more votes.

I recommend that watchers of this issue vote on and watch the above issue. So that votes aren't split, I believe this ticket should be closed, but I will wait a week before taking any action in case anyone disagrees. Thank you!

100% agree with the need for this. Waste of time and lots of unnecessary clicks here. Project manger should be able to set the default columns for the project AND each user should be able to make their selections and save those. The current user cookie based solution is somewhere between "sad" and "funny" given how detailed and robust these types of configuration settings are elsewhere in Jira.

must have because business projects often need custom fields. ability to save a view with custom fields is crucial, otherwise users can not work efficiently.

user tend to change back to excel / ms365 for this, but Jira would be so nice for that use!

This is absolutely critical for business projects which often have different contexts and need to be set up in different ways. The two most important things to persist for us are: 1) Columns and column layout in list view, 2) Grouping in list view.

For example, business projects could be used to track

            • Competitiors and Competitive Insight
            • Product Ideas
            • Prioritization of Ideas
            • Project backlogs

As you can imagine, each of these use cases have different contexts and different "columns" need to be highlighted to the teams. Moreover, those columns need to be consistent and the less sophisticated team member can't be expected to set this up.

The ability to persist the view should be project-specific.

For additional context on this request – we are considering Jira to replace monday.com for our entire organization however not being able to persist column configurations across the team is a deal-breaker for us.
