Installing JIRA Agile from the create project dialog does not licence it

Doing sanity-checking for JIRA 6.1, I did the following steps:

      1) Did a clean install of production-mode JIRA 6.1-RC1 BTF on Windows.
      2) Followed the JIRA setup process.
      3) Clicked Create Project from the dashboard gadget.
      4) Selected a JIRA Agile project and followed the prompts to install JIRA Agile.
      5) Entered my MAC credentials when instructed.

The installation appear to complete successfully, but when it redirected me back to the Create project dialog, the JIRA Agile project types were missing. Refreshing the page and restarting JIRA Agile did not bring them back.

On closer inspection by pobara and jderaedt, it became apparent that JIRA Agile was installed and running but not licensed. Version 6.3.0.2 had been installed. There were no errors in the logs. The license when pasted in manually works.

Unfortunately it's untestable in OnDemand due to the lack of MAC integration with the jira-dev zone.

However, we can do a quick look at the code to see what other REST calls are being made.

oO ... does this mean we're flying blind here, we can't test this? If this is one difference between the DEV and PROD zones, then I say you should test that on the PROD instance and talk to HOPS to provision one ....

OnDemand should not be affected as the license is not applied directly through UPM but through MAC.

pobara has let me know that GH will do a release tomorrow including the fix, so it will get bundled with JIRA before code freeze.

Pete is testing this, and I believe he has finished his testing in BTF.

Where are we up to with this issue all? We are code freezing for the next JIRA build on 9/9. Who is doing quality review on this? is it pobara?

jderaedt can you please take charge of the version bumping. I assume this should be made on:

            • atlassian_jira_6_1_rc_release_branch
            • master
