Ability to save Sprint goal and/or other properties in a separate field or tag

      Hi all,

      We're excited to announce that the ability to set a sprint goal is available in JIRA Software 7.5 starting from today!
      We really appreciate your patience with this feature request, and apologize for our silence on the matter. We also appreciate the insights in this thread - it helped a ton in the design and prioritization of sprint goals.

      As we've mentioned before, our Cloud and Server deployment options are now on separate roadmaps (read more here), but this is a great example of a new feature shipped in cloud, that was popular and prioritized with server customers, that we have brought into server.

      JIRA Software 7.5 is now available to download so you can start planning your upgrade straight away!

    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

      As a Scrum Master, I'd like to be able to store Sprint information in a custom field, a label or a tag. It would be independent of the work being done on the Issues, and only linked to the Sprint as a whole. I would also like to add attachments to Sprints.

      Use case example:

      • Defining a Spring goal.
      • Sprint status is determined by the team based on business circumstances. E.g. a planned Sprint can be awaiting approval and ready for development, and one in progress can be progressing or being interrupted. It would be handy to have that information visible on the Board.
      • Mockups for Sprint goals need to be attached on a Sprint level.

            In the Cloud version, you provided a static field for sprint goals, which is not what the original request was: to provide custom fields, labels or tags to store sprint information. I would like to add specific information regarding a sprint and query that information for specifying what to display in a board. While you can add a sprint goal, you can't add custom fields, not tags, nor search against them.

             

            This requirement is not done. Please, complete the work.
