This issue was originally opened for sprint support in the Classic Cumulative Flow Diagram gadget. It has since become a mixture of that request and the need for the same gadget for the (newer) Agile board report.
So I will change the original summary to reflect this state.

      —
      Original summary
Wallboard Cumulative Flow Chart Gadget cannot work with Rapid Board Sprints

      Original description

This comes from a dedicated customer using the Cumulative Flow Chart Gadget with the Classic Planning Board.

      Reproduction steps:
      # You create a new Rapid Board, named RP1 (e.g. a Scrum one). In RP1 you include two projects, Pr1 and Pr2.
      # Then you create a Sprint, named S1
      # In RP1, you drag and drop issues from both Pr1 and Pr2 to S1.
      # Unlike the classic Planning Board (where issues are actually transferred into versions of the actual one project they are related to), issues are only transferred into S1. This is visible on the bottom right part of the issue in JIRA (under the Agile section)
      # In RP1, you can click on Report and then, instead of Sprint Report, select Cumulative Flow Diagram. This depicts the Cumulative Flow Diagram for S1 (and can act as a temporary workaround) but:
      # This is something you cannot have in the GreenHopper Cumulative Flow Chart Dashboard Gadget (also Wallboard capable) as you can only select a version, not a sprint.

Question: Shouldn't the Cumulative Flow Chart Gadget be able to work with Sprints instead of versions only?

It will be really good and advisable to have this feature under the gadgets right now CFD is available only in reports for the version which I am using v7.0.11 And it will be much beneficiary when team(s) and management want to see that past history say not only the past 5 sprints for an years calendar of 26sprints and see the amount of work which is coming in and going out To-Do(Open)/WIP/Done. And the Littles Law can be very well be perceived and analyzed from CFD.

I'd really like to have this also. I'm trying to construct a dashboard to show various metrics for our team. Some metrics are only available from the Agile Board Reports. We really need to be able to access the Agile Board reports as gadgets on the Dashboard.

A workaround is to add a link to the Agile Report using the Text Gadget, however per Atlassian documentation:

            https://confluence.atlassian.com/jiracoreserver073/gadgets-for-jira-applications-861257078.html?_ga=2.244593349.1193153659.1524506027-1539017927.1522705679

            • This gadget is only available if your JIRA administrator has enabled it. It is disabled by default because it is a potential security risk, as it can contain arbitrary HTML which could potentially make your JIRA system vulnerable to XSS attacks.

Adding my vote to have the cumulative flow diagram gadget. We are using it to monitor our Kanban board health and having to constantly add images of report every week is getting tedious to maintain.

We are following our work initiative specifically where the work also divides over multiple teams. This cumulative flow diagram is a really good presentation also to follow the progress as it shows the pre-steps (Like reviews, analyses, planning). As the actual implementation time might not be so long the pre-steps are important to bring visible. So to get this chart to confluence page would be really good for us as we are listing the initiatives in there and reporting the status/progress

I'd also like to be able to refine the filters for the gadget more than I can, so that it's not just linked to my kanban board filters.

eg I'd like to see a cumulative flow diagram for an epic, without having to set up a filter on my kanban board for that epic alone.

+1 This need comes up routinely when discussing Jira with Kanban teams. More and more teams are transitioning to Kanban. The only alternative right now is to use an iFrame and the associated Confluence gadget. Very difficult to use for all especially higher level leadership. Jira 6.4.6.

+ 1 x a lot for this. Not having this available makes getting a view of my ART teams really difficult! It takes too much time to look at the individual flow diagrams in the boards and then look at the dashboard. I need to be able to have them all in 1 place. Kanban transparency is just as important as any scrum or agile project. Can we please get an update on where this sits in the teams backlog

            We are using JIRA v7.1.4

As more investment appears to be going into Kanban boards (i.e. adding Epic support, etc), our users are wanting to see Cumulative Flow, Control Charts, etc as a dashboard view. This enables a team to allow stakeholders to view a dashboard rather than navigating through the agile board itself.

It would be immensely useful to have Cumulative Flow Charts (both in reports as well as on Wallboards) work for Sprints - seeing the flow of a single Sprint. This allows the team to visually see whether too much work/tasks are being worked on at the same time, instead of focusing on completing a smaller number at a time.

mpaluchowski added a comment - It would be immensely useful to have Cumulative Flow Charts (both in reports as well as on Wallboards) work for Sprints - seeing the flow of a single Sprint. This allows the team to visually see whether too much work/tasks are being worked on at the same time, instead of focusing on completing a smaller number at a time.

Not only the cumulative flow gadget is affected but also the Days Remaining Gadget and Greenhopper Project Progress Gadget.
This is completely necessary to use the new Rapid board!!
