Cant move my sub-task on Rapid Board if I am not the owner of this task

      Lets assume, I have a list of tasks: "task1, task2, subtask-of-task3", so I'm not an owner of task3, only it's subtask "subtask-of-task3".

In this situation it is impossible to sort tasks in rapid board. How we are supposed to do in this case?

Guys, I must be missing something here too. I have the exact same problem being described here and I am surprised that others don't. Why would you have to change the priority of the parent tasks? It's very common for a subtask of one parent task to be assigned to a developer as their #1 priority item and another subtask of that same parent be assigned to another developer as their #10 task? In terms of the order that a given task needs to be performed accross a team of multiple devs, the ranking of the parent tasks is irrelevant. What am I missing?

I am trying really hard to sell Jira to a dev manager and he views this as a big roadblock. HELP ME SELL YOUR SOFTWARE!

            Thanks.

We understand what you're talking about. The priority of the issues is defined by the priority of the parent.

You can't move MEIACORE-228 because it's not the real issue, MEIACORE-228 must be appearing in another column in your board.

The most obvious approach is to move MEIACORE-228 to be in the same column as the subtasks, you can then rank it easily. If you cannot or do not want to do that, you could define another board that has all of the issues in one column, you can then re-rank them directly against each other.

            Thanks,
            Shaun
