Problem

As an admin, I may want to only allow users to perform status transitions through boards and not through the use of the transitions drop-down on the Issue View.

Suggested Solution

Since all transitions are controlled by the workflow, it would need to be a configuration on the workflow since a board may have multiple issue types/projects in scope.

Why This Is Important

You may have projects that have multiple possible workflows worked by different team each with their own board. This would allow the management to be done on the board by adding and removing columns without having to control workflow properties for each status and each group.

Workaround

Manually control who or which team can and cannot perform each transition using Prevent specific users from executing workflow transitions in Jira.
