This suggestion is a request to reopen (or extend) JSWSERVER-6949

Although the issue was closed, the resolution did not reflect the recent requests. 

The ticket was closed on Aug 6, 2021 with the update that search capability had been added, but all of the recent requests were related to ability to apply quick-filters to the epics pane.

As a use-case: We have a number of subteams (potentially based on components) within our boards, and usually have a couple dozen epics in progress on a board at any one time, but only a fraction of them (5-6) are relevant to any one subteam. We already use quick-filters to create sub-team views of the board, which does work very well for issues but not for the epics pane. 

Hence why I believe the solution many people are looking for is not the ability to search the epics pane, but the ability to apply the quick-filters we already have and use for issues to the epics pane...
