Summary
Trying to add a comment on an issue from kanban board without having "Add comments" permission results into error : "The JIRA server could not be contacted. This may be a temporary glitch or the server may be down."
Steps to Reproduce
- on a Jira Software project, remove "Add comments" permission from users
- setup a Kanban board from this project
- try to add comment from the board to an issue
Expected Results
Comment link is not shown to users indicating that they do not have permissions to add comments
Actual Results
User is able to see the add comment link.
When clinking on "Comment", the error "The JIRA server could not be contacted. This may be a temporary glitch or the server may be down." is shown. (See attachment)
No error is shown in the logs.
Workaround
Give users "Add comments" permission.
