This is actually a must have for a software as JIRA that I am able to select a color from a panel for my epics (used as work packages). I shouldn't change ghx-label-1 to ghx-label-4 to get a different color, I want to have a selection of a few where i just click and in the background the label is changed. But from a customer's point of view I want to have a smooth and easy handling.

            hi @Ignat Alexeyenko,

do you have any news on this topic?

Jira is a system for complex systems and offer an easy to use and manage system. this is true to most parts except the epic color selection.

More than 9 epics = we need more than 9 colors please

this feature will definitely help solving many internal arguments and confusion.

One more vote, my team has more than 9 epics - pls provide a color palette for choosing epic colors! Thank you!

And yet another vote for this. How difficult can it be for this product to recognize more colors? Switch to HEX system and be done please.

One more vote for this feature! Sometimes I have a couple of epics with the exact same (or very similar) colors in development at the same time and at that point the value of the color coding is lost entirely.

I agree with @jflack . We should be able to edit the Epic's color (using shiny color picker as per issue description) on the same screen(s) as any other field for the epic. Having to go to the backlog, open the epic panel (which may not already be enabled depending on your board settings) and adjust it there seems an arbitrary and useless limitation.

And, if implemented, it would be nice if the color value could be read and set via the REST API. Currently, when creating Epics as Issues via the REST API, the colors assigned to the Epics seem totally random.

This would be really a great feature!

This feature would be really helpful. Currently there are only 14 colors. Ours is a vast project with many epics. So i have reached to a point, to use the same color for multiple epics, which beats the purpose of using background color to differentiate

            Hi,

I want to be able to set the epic colour when creating the epic, change it in the edit screen and display it when viewing the epic.

When creating or editing can we get the squares displayed ([^epic-pre-defined-colours.png)] instead of needing to create the epic, go to the backlog display and then selecting the colour ?

Can the text label ([^Bildschirmfoto 2016-02-11 um 16.12.57.png)] be replaced with the coloured square when displaying it ?

            Regards

            James

I have a use case for an Epic to be Red as we use this for "911" type of issues to signify their importance.

I would like to add yellow color on an epic. Surprisingly, yellow does not exist but orange and light orange.

            Hi werner.lembacher,

As you may know one can change colour of an epic using pre-defined colours. I've attached epic-pre-defined-colours.png to demonstrate that.
Currently team is working on bigger changes in software / agile and the custom colour picker is not a priority for us.

I'm leaving this open for people to see if the issue got more interest in the near future. Please continue watching for the updates.

            Cheers,
