Since the hierarchy plugin is not a supported plugin by Pyxis-technologies (It is a free plugin that I have submited for the Atlassian Codegeist this is a personal task for me to remind me to do it !!!

GreenHopper being my main priority, this will come as soon as I have some spare time (rare you will say, right you will be )
Bare with me I will do the enhancements!

[JSWSERVER-139] Integrate Links Hierarchy plugin into GreenHopper

diz: The Links Hierarchy plugin was not developed by Atlassian, was never a part of GreenHopper and has never been supported. The GreenHopper team does not have the bandwidth to take it on, so we are keen for any interested users to take it on. The Structure plugin is a much more capable plugin that is supported and maintained by ALMWorks.

On the other hand, the GreenHopper team is currently working on Epic support in GreenHopper which will allow an Epic -> Story -> Task hierarchy. We hope that this will meet the needs of many users.

            Thanks,
            Shaun

            Hi Steffen,

Great to hear you are keen to contribute to the LHR plugin!

The latest code is available here. Unfortunately, it looks like JC built 1.1 and did not check in so those changes are now lost forever - the main change was the switch to the GreenHopper LinkProvider Plugin Module.

            Thank you.

            Regards,
            Nicholas Muldoon

            hi jean-christophe,

there are a problem with jira4.4 and your plugin. I would fix it, but in the atlassian svn I couldn't find the latest sources for the 1.1 release of your plugin. Could you send me the sources or could you update the svn please?

            regards

I am using version 1.1 of the Links Hierarchy plugin with version Jira 4.4/Greenhopper 5.7.1 I get the same errors as Chris. It works OK but we get the annoying ERROR messages in the log.

Looks like we either download and fix or evaluate "Structure" at http://structure.almworks.com/

            Hi,
I am running JIRA 4.4.3, with Greenhopper 5.8.2 and Links Hierarchy 1.1 and my system seems to be running alright, no obvious problems, however I am getting these errors in the log file and Hercules is referring me to this issue...

FYI. I am using version 1.1 (available on plugins.atlassian.com) of the Links Hierarchy plugin with version Jira 4.4.3/Greenhopper 5.7.4. Still seems to work.

            Hello,

I am closing this issue as Won't Fix.

The original author of the Links Hierarchy Report plugin no longer works for Atlassian. Without that persons experience and knowledge of the code it is non-trivial to migrate and implement this functionality into GreenHopper.

All existing feature requests and bugs for the Links Hierarchy Report plugin have been moved over to the open source project.

            Next steps:

            • If you are interested and willing to contribute to this plugin grab the source code and get involved.
            • You can continue to use the Links Hierarchy Report plugin. There are no known issues with JIRA 4.3.
            • Structure is a commercial plugin for JIRA which provides n-level hierarchies and a great visualisation of this hierarchy. I recommend you take a look.

            Thank you.

            Regards,
            Nicholas Muldoon

We are using Beta 2 on Jira 4.2.1 with out any issues as far as we can tell. I do want to make a minor change to it (to view the Tree View by Default) but can't seem to track down the latest source. The source at the below link appears to be for Beta 2.

@Robert Sanders: Did you have any problems running version 1.1 of this plugin with Jira 4.2? We're about to upgrade Jira at our site as well.

In general, it's plain this plugin is getting no love at all. The SPAC page is way out of date, there's no CI build, and no way to tell if it's compatible with the latest releases short of trying it out ourselves to see what breaks.
