      Summary

When doing sprint planning it would be much nicer to use the quick options dialog to move tasks into an active sprint. Having to use the mouse is frustrating when doing lots of quick planning with the team.

      Environment

      Cloud / Server

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Open a Scrum board
      2. View the board backlog
      3. Right click on a ticket in the backlog

      Expected Results

An option to move to a current sprint should be presented in the right click menu

      Actual Results

The right click menu does not offer a user the ability to move the ticket to a sprint

[JSWSERVER-13634] Add "Add to sprint" command in the "quick options" dialog

We are using the cloud version of the product. The bug report is that without ranking enabled the entirety of the agile system is broken - not just ranking. At my company we use priority/labels/components to prioritize tasks, not an arbitrary drag/drop ordering. In order to take advantage of the agile system in Jira we need to be able to use your agile system but have ranking disabled.

My suggested fix for this is to add "send to sprint" into the quick-options menu (press `.` on any screen) which opens a modal dialog with a sprint auto-complete. This would eliminate the need for other sprint related options to be enabled in the absence of rank.

Additionally this feature would allow for sprint planning from other screens such as issue searches which would be very nice.

carl1254651924 Thank you for providing me further information. You are correct. When a board turns off ranking, we cannot move issues in Backlog. Verifying this issue on Cloud, a warning message will be shown "Ranking is disabled, as the Filter Query for this board is not ordered by ascending Rank. Please check your filter configuration." Can you please confirm which JIRA version (Cloud/Server) are you using?

make sure you turn off rank ordering - that seems to repo the issue.

            Hi carl1254651924,

Thanks for raising this issue. I've verified this issue on Cloud and I can see the option Send to Sprint.

Can you please confirm this issue still happens on your instance? Please also provide more version detail.

            Thanks,
            Dong

I would like to push that this is treated as a bug because as far as I can tell the only way I can currently add tasks to my sprint is by editing the task and using the "sprint" field. That is insane and totally destroys almost the entire point of the agile support in JIRA.
