Transition names displayed instead of available statuses when dragging Issues between columns

      summary

      As per the documentation (see Transitioning an Issue), when Issues are dragged between columns, available statuses should be displayed:

      If the target column is associated with more than one status then, when the issue is hovered over that column, each status will appear as a separate section with a dashed outline

      However, it's the transition names that are displayed; for transitions that weren't included in the original Simplified Workflow.

      steps to reproduce
      1. create a Project and a board for it;
      2. associate more than one status to one of the columns;
      3. attempt to drag an Issue into the column containing more than one status - the transition name will be displayed instead of the Status name.

      Additional notes:

      • this doesn't affect default transitions in the Simplified Workflow, as they have the jira.i18n.title property set to gh.workflow.preset.[value];
      • new statuses and transitions added using Agile (from Board > Configure > Column) don't have that property, and are displayed incorrectly.

            [JSWSERVER-10817] Transition names displayed instead of available statuses when dragging Issues between columns

            I am having this same issue, but Sean's comment above did not resolve it. On the Board view in an active sprint, when I drag/drop an issue changing columns/statuses, it shows the transition as separate from the status itself. If I drop the card into the transition space of the column, my transition works as intended, however, if I drop the card into the status section of the column, the transition doesn't activate.

            I am migrating from Jira Server to Jira Cloud and it doesn't work this way in the Server version, so I don't believe this is intended functionality. It creates a large void for error when my team relies on transitions to ensure data points are captured at the appropriate time in the Issue's process/workflow.

            I had the same problem, but thanks to Sean with its comment above I could solve it. Thank you!

            I created the transitions for my workflow, and I do not allow move from all status to any other. Then after some time this problem appear, I have checked the workflow and the option "Allow all statuses to transition to this one" was marked for all the statuses however in the diagram the transition with the "ALL" label did not appear for any of the statuses (this transition ALL appears when the option is marked). I have uncheked that option and the problem was fixed.

            I was having this issue this week and was able to do a workaround to fix it.  We have a global workflow with numerous statuses for all of our projects in Jira.  The team wanted to change the name of an existing status from Estimating Business Value to Business Planning.  I edited the workflow, changed the name, and published it.  It was easy, but then I noticed on the boards that when you click and drag cards the old status name (Estimating Business Value) was still displaying.  I found this card I am commenting on now to figure out it was the Transition name actually displays on the boards.  Since this was card was resolved as Timeout, I didn't know what to do.  However, when editing the workflow in diagram mode, I simply unchecked the "Allow all statuses to transition to this one" and then rechecked it.  Unchecking & rechecking that field seems to have reset the transition name for me to the new status name of Business Planning.  I published the workflow and the boards are displaying the new status name now.  Just an FYI to anyone.
