Issue Summary

The user experiences unexpected focus shifts while using the Search feature on the Scrum/Kanban board. The focus is stolen by Issue Cards, triggering shortcuts / hot keys unexpectedly. This issue seems to occur mainly when a user types slowly or clicks back on the search bar quickly after clearing a search.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Access a Scrum/Kanban board in Jira.
2. Create some Jira Issues in your board
3. Attempt to perform a search using the Search feature.
4. Click on a random Issue. After it closes the modal.
5. Clear the search bar and quickly click back on it. The focus will be stolen by the Issue Card after some moments. 
   • Typing slowly can cause this problem as well. 

Expected Results

The user should be able to type in the Search box without the focus being shifted away unexpectedly.

Actual Results

The focus from the Search feature is stolen by Issue Cards, causing unexpected triggering of shortcuts or user having to retype the search.

Workaround

Currently, there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available.
