I want to be able to manage upcoming sprints in Roadmaps, so that I can visually schedule my issues

      As a Jira user, I want to be able to manage upcoming sprints in Basic Roadmaps, so that I can visually schedule my issues into new sprints.

      Background

      • There is currently the ability to see sprints on the roadmaps view which relates to this issue: JSWCLOUD-17926.
      • This ticket is to determine the need to create and manage sprints from the roadmap view. 
        This can help users to have a planning view of sprints in the same way it can be done currently with Epics. 

      a) what does "manage sprints" mean to you?
      b) what goals you are trying to achieve by managing sprints on the timeline vs. the backlog

            Hi everyone,

            Thank you for bringing this suggestion to our attention. As explained in our new feature policy, there are many factors that influence our product roadmaps and determine the features we implement. When making decisions about what to prioritise and work on, we combine your feedback and suggestions with insights from our support teams, product analytics, research findings, and more. This information, combined with our medium- and long-term product and platform vision, determines what we implement and its priority order.

            Unfortunately, as a result of inactivity for an extended period of time, this suggestion didn’t make it to the roadmap and we are closing it.

            While this issue has been closed, our Product Managers continue to look at requests on jira.atlassian.com as they develop their roadmap, including closed ones. In addition, if you feel like this suggestion is still important to your team please let us know by commenting on this ticket.

              • Ability to view/suppress multiple Boards' Sprints within a Project in the Roadmap UI
              • Ability to create/edit/delete for multiple Boards' Sprints within a Project in the Roadmap UI
            2. What goals you are trying to achieve by managing sprints on the timeline vs. the backlog
              • Ability to coordinate/report-on cross Team requirements, visually that are associated to a shared Sprint to understand risk of a unified deployment
