      Problem Definition

As a user, I want to be able to share a project's advance roadmap/project without consuming licenses.

      Suggested Solution

A user should be able to share a link to somebody else that provides view access to the project without having to explicitly consume a license of its instance

Also, allow users to embed the Advance Roadmap view in external pages/websites

If you are interested in sharing the Basic Roadmap you can see this other FR: JRACLOUD-77443: Ability to share a Roadmap with an external user

      Workaround

Customers can already export an Advanced Roadmaps plan to an image (PNG) and thus share a non-interactive version of the roadmap with stakeholders. The image export is available via the roadmap's Share as > Image (.png) button located in the header.

[JRACLOUD-87846] Ability to share Roadmaps / projects without consuming a license

We have users who will only use the Jira plan in read-only mode; we don't want to spend a license for a user who only uses a single feature.

Please make a shareable read only view for Plans. Right now, we're being forced to use Aha because we needed our Go To Market team to be able to see our roadmaps. They don't have Jira licenses (they don't need them) so they can't see anything we're doing. We have to pay for a separate service (Aha) to accomplish this. PLEASE make this a feature, where you can click 'share' and get a public link for the live read-only roadmap

            Hi 3cdd8eacaccd,

My concern with the approach of using Visor is that the Marketplace link provided is not necessarily a "plugin" but a connector with a necessary, separate account with Visor (which has their own pricing plan).

This is not a true solution within Jira.

            Best,
            Rebecca

a7f7e1d7b753 I'm not sure I understand your concern to the workaround proposed. I suggested a bidirectionally syncing software that does keep the data up to date and is easily shared with people who don't even need to have a Jira integration. Please clarify?

Sharing of roadmaps, even with non-Jira users, is a must have IMHO. That's why we (A few ex-Atlassians) built a marketplace app to make sharing easier.

Caveat, the initial release only supports a board view. A timeline/gantt view is planned for a future version.

You can share the roadmaps in Confluence, embed them in your website, or access them within related Jira projects. They are designed to be simple, showing only the fields you want to share and hiding everything else.

Native support for sharing would of course be the preferred option, but hopefully this provides a good workaround for folks who need the functionality today.

We would love to hear what you think.

            Hello 3cdd8eacaccd,

Sorry, but that is not an acceptable workaround... (also, your link goes to example.com).
As I stated in my last comment:

Exporting options still only shows one point in time and can become outdated very quickly—especially in a fast-paced environment.

I don't see why people shouldn't be able to get up-to-date, accurate information on demand, but instead have to rely on contacting someone with a license to export a soon-to-be out of date file.

I don't know about anyone else, but I have better things to do than to constantly export point-in-time files to stakeholders who will probably get confused about which is the most up-to-date file (even with a date labeled clearly in the filename).

I urge you to make this a priority. This feature doesn't directly make $$ for Atlassian, and that is why I don't think it has been addressed yet... However, this is an extremely desirable feature that users are pushing very hard for.

            Best,

            Dear Atlassian Sales Team.

You can`t get a better Advertising than just allow Advanced Roadmap Users to share a Plan (read-only) to Non-Jira Users.

Please give this a priority. Thank you very much.

People who need information at the planning level are not always the same people completing the work. Thus it would make sense to create a way for non license people view plans.

we need this, we want to cooperate with several customers in different implementation projects (which are huge!) and a simple way of sharing the project dates would be very helpful
