Allow more robust CSS in Jira mardown for creating ordered lists in Description

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

      Please implement more list options for markdown in Jira Wiki-style rendered text fields, such as the issue Description field. For example, it would be great to be able to change the list type, especially for ordered lists as can be done with HTML, markup, etc., and to see this in Jira.

      Examples:

      * {{ordered list|type=lower-alpha
            | ...
            ...
         }}

      * <ol style="list-style-type: lower-roman;">
            <li>...</li>
            ...
         </ol>

      Also, being able to continue a list item after sub-items, as in markup using a colon; formatting paragraphs, breaks, having multi-lined items, tables, multiple colums, etc. within the lists; using CSS to control other detault formatting, such as indentation, etc.

      As it is now, in Jira, if we want to create an ordered list using lowercase letters, we have to use two hashtags, which renders in Jira as:

          1.    1.
                 2.
                 3. ...

      And in a Jira macro on a Confluence page as:

           1.    a.
                  b.
                  c. ...

      When what we were trying to create (in Jira and as displayed in Confluence) is:

          a.
          b.
          c. ...
