Currently, Roadmaps has only 3 filters, done/ todo/ progress. It's too small. I have some Epic which should be managed differently in one project. Hence I can't filter them on the Roadmap I am considering the separation of the project. If you add some filters on the Roadmap, it will be really helpful.
- it would be extremely useful if project administrators could add custom filters based on fields available in tickets belonging to the board.
- In addition to this, it would be helpful to have filter options by Category, project lead, period, and issue number.
Update from Jira Roadmaps team - Dec 2022
Hello! The epic filter, Custom Filters on TMP, Quick filters on CMP will be available for all users and teams on Jira Software Cloud on January 16th, 2023.
Remember, Filters will only show up on the top of the roadmap if there is something to filter on; I.e. the project you are in has something tagged with it. E.g. You can only filter by labels, if a label has been used in the same project.
Update from Jira Roadmaps team - Nov 2022
Great news! the team has been working hard to get quick filters (CMP), and custom filters (TMP) on the roadmap view to help you and your team set a better context for planning. The feature has started to roll out and will be available on all editions of Jira Software Cloud Roadmaps by the end of January 2023.
We will update this ticket again with the announcement of when it will be available for all users and teams on Jira Software Cloud.
..and in the interim, if you have any feedback about the filtering experience on Roadmaps, please continue to share your feedback here!
Update from Jira Roadmaps team - Aug 2022
Filters will show on your roadmaps if they are being used within the project. E.g. If a label has been created in the same project and assigned an issue - the label filter will appear.
Extending these filters to more complex needs is currently under consideration, and we look to bring the power of 'quick' and 'custom' filters created using JQL to the roadmap in the next 3-6 months. Watch this ticket for more details.
Update from Jira Roadmaps team - May 2022
Hi all - Thank you for your valued feedback and for describing the needs/use cases of your teams.
We understand the benefits of adding more filters to the roadmap, and how this can help you and your team quickly discuss epics in focus, and share the filtered view with your stakeholders.
We have recently added the most requested, "Component filter" - which looks to have helped quite a few teams already. Quick filters for CMP projects is currently on our roadmap, and custom filters in TMP is in the pipeline for the next 3-4 months.
Thanks again, we will keep you updated when things are being released on this ticket.
If you feel like you have a specific need or would like to give general feedback about Jira roadmaps, you can book some time with me here:https://calendly.com/ratheshr/planning-convo - I’d love to have a conversation where we can dive into the specifics.
